It was standing room only in a church that holds 1000 people. The focus: "reality" for local immigrants & their families.

Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren
was the honored guest.

Many St. Julie parishioners
were on hand.

This Immigration
Town Hall Meeting
was sponsored by:

PACT

A diverse group of
people came forward
to tell their stories.

Each speaker told stories
of personal challenges
and basic needs.

All listened carefully as...

Fr. Jon moderated.

The huge crowd gave a standing ovation for two young people from St. Julie's.
Their life truth brought many to tears.

Edgar Quiroz and Karla Reyes
silenced the crowd with their personal struggles.

Their heartfelt truth was emotional and powerful.

Student journalists from San Jose State and Bay Area media captured the moment,
and reported their stories on television.

Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren promised to take all the stories she heard back to
Washington D.C, and work on meaningful and helpful immigration reform.

The Town Hall Meeting concluded with the sharing of bread with everyone
and a promise never to forget what everyone heard.

Thanks to everyone from St. Julie Billiart Parish who attended this important
community forum on immigration.

Promises now must be kept.  The community must stay vigilant.
For actions taken in the future must be fair and humane.

"All things are possible for God," says Our Lord.

Like the picture on the wall in the church suggests, our faith will sustain us.

"Jesus...I Trust in You."
