Fr. Jon is a
writer, counselor,
and champion
for basic human
rights.

He also guest lectures
periodically
at San Jose State
about religious issues
in the media.

 


Fr. Jon Pedigo, STL, is a native of the Bay Area,
has been active in civic affairs and social justice causes
for over 25 years.
Since his ordination to the Diocese of San José in 1991,
Fr. Pedigo has been involved with several local social justice causes and inter-faith dialogues.



Fr. Pedigo, a 2004 recipient of the Martin Luther King Good Neighbor Award, serves on the Human Concerns
Commission of the Diocese of San José and the
Inter-Faith Council of Santa Clara County.



Fr. Pedigo holds a Bachelor’s of Music Degree
from San Francisco State University and a Master of Music
from Indiana University, Bloomington. He did his theology studies at St Patrick Seminary, Menlo Park and holds a
Licentiate in Sacred Theology from the
Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley.

Fr. Pedigo serves as Pastor at St Julie Billiart Parish,
in the southern most area of the city of San José.

Currently he is working on immigrant rights and
affordable housing.
