Lucy Valencia
I was born in Michoacan,
Mexico.
I was 11 months old when my family immigrated to the USA. I
visited Mexico
and met my grandparents for the first time when I was 10
years old. I have lived in California my entire life.
Growing up my father made sure
we learned to read and write Spanish.
Everyday after school, there was "Spanish" school at home,
blackboard and all.
I am married and have two grown children, Joel and Linda.
My husband and I started attending St. Julie's 8 years ago
and became involved
5 years ago. My involvement in the parish gives support to
our growing Spanish Community.
I became a member of the Pastoral Council in January
2005 and
hope to make a positive impact for current and future
members of our parish.
I have an Accounting degree and enjoy calculating and
counting all the blessing I have received since coming to
St. Julie's.
It's not only "Church" where we gather weekly to give thanks
and praise,
it's home away from home. It's extended family.
It's a place where all are welcomed and I can truly say, I
feel it...
