Distractions, disappointments, and the inevitable ups and downs of life form a part of the cyclical nature of marriage and long-term committed relationships. All couples go through stages of marriage including romance, disillusionment, misery and awakening. But today’s society and mass media have sold us the mistaken notion that marriage is a free ticket to a ‘happily ever after’. The truth is that good relationships take hard work. God gave us loving relationships so we can experience His immense love for us. The St Julie’s Couples Ministry is here to help you do just that – to debunk marriage myths, to learn about yourselves, about each other, to learn practical tools for enriching and strengthening marriage, and then to go out into a broken world and showcase that love to others. This ministry is both for struggling couples and for good committed couples who seek enrichment and strengthening.
What we do:
- strengthen, encourage & support marriages
- teach skills and principles for a successful relationship
- connect couples with others in the community
- deepen the couple’s relationship with each other and Christ
You’ll experience a mix of presentations, individual work, group sharing, as well as fellowship and fun. Past and future topics include:
- The four stages of marriage
- Ideals versus values
- How our families of origin affect our behavior
- Personality styles
- Building Intimacy
- Forgiveness and Healing
We warmly invite singles if your partner cannot attend. And in the welcoming spirit of St Julie’s, we invite all folks in any long-term committed love relationship, married or not, from the St Julie’s community and beyond.
